A Summer Getaway at Hotel Quintessence
A romantic retreat in Mont Tremblant
July 4, 2024Welcome to another travel post! As a lover of Canadian adventures, I was thrilled when Tyler and I got the call to revisit the enchanting Hotel Quintessence for a summer stay. After our winter trip and skiing at Mont Tremblant, experiencing this beautiful location in the warmer months was a delightful contrast. Join me as I share our unforgettable summer getaway and all that Hotel Quintessence has to offer.

🌲 Prime Location
Hotel Quintessence is perfectly situated across the street from the charming Mont Tremblant ski village. This vibrant village is filled with brightly coloured façades, shops, mountain biking trails, pottery painting, rides, and delectable dining options. One of my personal favourites is La Maison de la Crêpe, where you can enjoy both savoury and sweet crêpes that never disappoint.

The hotel's grounds are magnificent, with every room offering stunning views of the pool, outdoor terrace, and the serene Lake Tremblant, all framed by the majestic mountains. The entrance to the hotel has lush greenery and vibrant flower arrangements that cascade from hanging baskets, creating a welcoming and picturesque atmosphere. A beautiful stone fountain is nestled in a meticulously maintained garden, adding to the overall charm and elegance of the property. The architectural design, featuring wooden beams and stone accents, blends seamlessly with the natural surroundings, providing a tranquil and luxurious retreat.

☕ Room Options and Accommodations
Our stay was in a Classic Suite, which costs approximately $500 CAD per night. The suite was beautifully styled, with a cozy fireplace and a luxurious bathroom. Valet parking service is available for an additional $25 CAD per night. Upon arrival, we were greeted with complimentary champagne and chocolates on our bed!

🍽 Culinary Delights
Our first evening began with cocktails at the hotel's restaurant, where I tried the refreshing "Ceci n'est pas une tisane" cocktail, and Tyler enjoyed the Yuzu Margarita, featuring a unique Quintessence ice cube.

Dinner at Restaurant La Quintessence was a highlight, featuring live music that added to the romantic ambiance without overwhelming our conversation. The summer menu was exceptional, starting with a rich lobster bisque and truffle risotto, complemented by fresh oysters and mullet caviar. For the main course, we enjoyed tender halibut paired with cider-braised apples, cauliflower purée, grilled asparagus, and basil butter, followed by a succulent deer sirloin steak served with smoked celery purée, king oyster mushrooms, maple-glazed cipollini onions, and a delicate honeysuckle berry sauce. The evening concluded with a decadent dark chocolate lava cake topped with vanilla ice cream. The food gets a 10/10 from me!

We concluded our meal with a decadent Brownie Lava Cake, cappuccinos, and vanilla ice cream.

🧖 Hotel Amenities
Our mornings started with Nespresso in the room and news on the big screen TV. Other offerings at Hotel Quintessence include an extensive wine cellar and top-tier spa services that you can enjoy in your room or at the spa. The spa facilities feature a dry sauna, steam bath, outdoor infinity pool (heated in summer and maintained at a cooler temperature in winter for a thermal experience), and an outdoor hot tub. Daily access to the Sans Sabots Spa is included in your stay. The spa also offers a range of beauty products from the luxurious Babor line, and their massages have great reviews at an additional cost. We didn't try out the extra spa services this time around, but we definitely will on our next trip!

☕ Breakfast on The Terrace
Breakfast can be enjoyed in the comfort of your suite, on the terrace, or in the dining room at Restaurant La Quintessence. I enjoyed a yogurt and granola bowl with fresh fruit and a cappuccino, while Tyler savoured Eggs Benedict with salmon. There's nothing better than a sunny Canadian summer's day and breakfast with a gorgeous view!

🚣 The Aquatic Section Reopened
During our winter visit, the lake was completely frozen over. In the summer, however, you can head to the boathouse to rent paddle boards, kayaks, and the exciting new Shark Bikes, which are surprisingly easy to ride on the waves. Canoeing around Hotel Quintessence was a relaxing morning activity, and I even tried out the Shark Bike in a cute summer dress—loved it!

🌞 Final Thoughts
The new restaurant renovations, summer menu, and the reopening of the nautical area and the beautiful dock overlooking the lake made for an incredible stay at Hotel Quintessence. If you want to see how this hotel looks during winter for a ski holiday, check out my review and experience here.
